Just DO It
This past week I went on a 7 day backpacking trip in Tahoe! 45 pounds on my back alongside 4 other youth accompanied by 4 staff. This trip was very exciting and brought a lot of joy to my heart. While walking, I have never felt so confident or had so much perseverance. I lived in the moment, I rolled around in the dirt, didn't brush my hair for the 7 days, I accepted the sweat and pain I experienced, showed up with my true authentic self. It couldn't of been better, I was happy as I made the most out of this trip. I got to bound with others and connect on a deeper level. I learned about myself, the wired/goofiness I hold within myself and if I have more confidence with in myself then I can do most everything! I rarely feel super comfortable or confident around others, but this trip I was able to show up and accept my wired impulsivities. There's always something about being deep into the woods, away from society, while only having what's on your back, that gets the best of me and I think others can agree with relating to this. We go a little bonkers and have all of the experiences, experiencing everything between the hard and good moments on the spectrum. When stepping away from what we are used too, then experiencing our growth zone we can be much more appreciative of life. I would prefer experiencing the pain from growth then the pain from staying still. It is a hard thing to accept and live by but we are not perfect and that is what makes us so real. During this trip I jumped off a 25 foot cliff into the water!! It was scary, but it felt so good afterwards! I am pretty proud of myself as this is an example of growth zone. In the beginning I thought that there was no way I would do it. There were these boys saying "send it!!!!", "no thought!!" which encourage me a lot. Reflecting back on these words, I have realized that we are always held back because of our thoughts. The thoughts chase and stir around in our heads which creates fear within us, we end up not doing a lot of things that we wanted to do. Send it and no thought means just doing it. When we just do it we are then able to reach our higher self and grow as a person!
As I was walking up the mountains, I came to a beautiful view in front of me when reaching the top. This is a reminder that the hardest moments lead to beautiful destinations. Just stick with it and you will be rewarded. Best of luck with your journey. Just do it! :)
