According to the World Health Organization, mental health is “a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.”
In my own words mental health means the health of the mind just like physical health means the health of the body. Mental health - our feelings, thoughts, mood, actions, and behavior are affected – how we think about ourselves and our lives, how we cope with life’s ups and downs, and our relationships with family and friends are all affected. When you have a serious physical health condition, you are so focused on yourself, all of your energy and effort are being used. Same goes for having a mental health condition, your effort and energy are being used to focus inward and what your connected to.
